There are two fundamental problems in the world today that Eden was created to address...
Lack of Land
By 2050 there will not be enough necessary agricultural output, globally, to support the exponential increase of humans. We would need additional farmland the size of Canada in order to keep up with the growth in global population.
Lack of Water
Reservoirs around the world are running out of fresh water. The real challenge is to develop a solution to these problems that people not currently experiencing them, will invest in (i.e. if you aren’t starving, why pay money to prevent you from starving).
LET'S LOOK AT THE BIG PICTURE
In 2050, you will be one of 9.5 billion people. By then, our growing global population will require an estimated 70 percent more food to meet demand. Unfortunately, there won’t be 70 percent more land available. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) reports that added farmland will help produce only 10 percent of the additional food the planet needs by 2050, and 20 percent of that food will come from increased cropping intensity. Accordingly, the FAO concludes that 70 percent of the world’s additional food needs can only be produced with new agricultural technologies.

It seems very logical that building “up”, utilizing non-traditional spaces for agriculture, and decentralizing farming (going small) are the best options we have. To that end, we have launched Eden to develop a system that can “provide sustainable food and energy independence to local families and communities around the world, and one day, off it.”
OUR SOLUTIONS
We want to encourage local self-sufficiency through providing tools for families, small businesses, and schools.
EDEN'S SOLUTIONS (based on the patent-pending Genesis System) can be used to REVOLUTIONIZE this farming industry by changing the approach entirely. We call this approach "Farming 2.0". We can achieve this by:
1. Decentralizing the production of food down to the local level-families and communities
2. Utilizing 50-70 percent less land and utilizing non-arable land (such as deserts)
3. Utilizing 95 percent + less water
4. Reducing labor by
75 percent through automation
5. Reducing vulnerability to changing weather, natural disasters and societal/ economic disruptions
6. Increasing crop quality and yield while utilizing no pesticides or herbicides
